I am anthropologist of knowledge and STS scholar. My research addresses questions such as: What is knowledge? Why do people recognize certain things and information as knowledge and not others? How do knowledge communities emerge, evolve, and interact? How do they struggle for different forms of truth and credibility? Finally, how do people mobilize knowledge to organize their lives and claim legitimacy for their choices?
Recently, I started working at the Natural History Museum in Berlin.
At different times, I studied scientific, technical and quasi-technical communities, post-Soviet memory and transformation of discourses on modernization and science and technologies.
